The second day out of the weekend we went to Punakha for rafting. Two rivers come together, the Pho chuu(male river) and Mo chuu(female river) to make the baby river. HA! At the confluence of the two rivers lies the Punakha Dzong and the largest set of rapids called the "Wrathful Buddha" or as we call it the shrieking, incontinent Maya rapid. The Dzong is in the background.
As compensation for the extra raft-cleaning fee, Maya was required to spend a few hours in a Bhutanese sweat shop. Actually this is a embroidery room of a project sponsored by the Bhutan Youth Development Fund to teach underprivileged girls a trade.
Suspension bridge over the river. The two red dots on the bridge are monks.
Looks like a great adventure! What fun that must have been! That embroidery room looks like an adventure as well:) Can't wait to see more experiences that you guys encounter!
