Bhutan's best bugs by Olivia

This is a cicada that we found on our hike up to the giant golden Buddha.  Maya is seen holding the ferocious beast with sharp pointy teeth.

This picture has a cricket pretty well camouflaged in it.Maya tried to catch it,but she couldn't.

Red and black beetle on the way to the Devine Madman temple.

Almost stepped on this one because it looked like a leaf.

These dung- beetles washed down the downspouts at a nunnery.  While we were in the temple Maya was encouraging them to "fly and be free."  She is now known as the dung beetle whisperer of Punakha.

Horned green moth.  The picture is blurry but the little white things are curved horns.Maya did not try to pick it up.
