We did not realized when we enrolled the girls that the Etho Metho School is the Adda Clevenger of Bhutan. At the expense of all their classwork they spent the last month rehearsing and scouring the shops for matching outfits and "Momo shoes."
The International Song and dance show 2011 included all the preschool classes singing classics like "Polly had a Dolly" and "Hokey Cokey" (this is not a typo) and each of 14 elementary classes performing songs from around Asia.
Audrey's class did a Bengali dance with full costume and make-up. Audrey was very excited. It took us 3 days to get all her eye makeup off. Check out a video of her dance at the Youtube link below:

Maya's class (the oldest group of girls at the school) brought down the house with a Korean pop song "Paparazzi".

Olivia and the 3rd grade girls performed a Japanese umbrella dance. Thankfully there were no major injuries as they swung their umbrellas through the air.

The entire show was taped by the local TV channel and will likely be broadcast over and over again as there is not much original programing. The girls were treated like minor celebrities (it's such a small city and everyone seems to know them by now) and praised for learning the dance routines so quickly. Adda Clevenger prepared them well for Bhutan!
Fantastic :) Our best to all 3 of the girls. We received 2 postcards YEAH!!!! and would love to write back but we have no address :( please, send ASAP
